the giant river came to destroy me when i was nine years old

it was swallowing everything whole

so i became the earth

so i became the wind and rain

i became the tsunami and the mixing of trash and silt

i am the sun

they grabbed on to it for what seemed like forever

what seemed like a split second

and then they too were thrown off by something larger

something they couldnt see
